Objectives
Blue Gum Housing Co-operative endeavours –
a) To provide low cost housing for people who are struggling to access affordable accommodation due to; discrimination, poverty, disability, misfortune, homelessness, lack of community support, low income, cultural difference, LGBTQIA+ status and vulnerable youth.
b)To be inclusive, supportive and caring to others.
c)To maintain the land and houses in an environmentally sustainable manner.
d)To endeavour to build strong communities through Co-operative living.
e)To advocate and support others who want to live in affordable housing Co-operatives.
Co-operatives are based on self-responsibility, democracy, equity and support of each other and one’s community. In the tradition of their founders, Co-operative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, inclusiveness and caring for others.
To provide affordable, socially economical and environmentally sustainable housing to the Blue Gum members. The Blue Gum Housing Co-operative will be managed by its members. All Blue Gum members have equitable rights and responsibilities in their management and operation. That Blue Gum Housing Co-operative is managed according to its principles and model rules.
